Have any of you good people heard of Opera Browser. This query was posted on one of my local forums.

Just a question to tickle the mind a bit.
I see a buncha 'puter literates post here frequently, and am curious about what browser you prefer.

I have all three, and have had zero problems with Opera, a few with IE, and constant crashes with Netscape.
I don't like Bill Gates, and won't willingly support him by using his proprietary browser, Netscape ain't much of an option either. HotJava browser is too flakey for my tastes, and the others I've tried suck in one form or fashion.
If you've never heard of Opera, go to www.opera.com
and download it. (DSL and cable will be real fast, dialup about 30 minutes or so.)
lets hear what ya think!!...

Lemme ask you this: Have you heard of Mozilla? It's like Opera and Netscape, but without the Netscape bloat and without the shareware price. In other words: it's free!

I tried Opera before, and I liked it. It did has some quirks, which I don't remember anymore. But, Mozilla was way cool. Of course, I have to keep IE in case a site doesn't view correctly.

You can get Mozilla here.

Opera is good, but aren't they charging $ now? Mozilla is free open source, and nice.

Opera and Mozilla.....no other compares to these two.
That goes for Windowze as well as Linux and other *nix OSs.

Opera wasn't too bad, but I think they have ads now, unless you pay. I prefer mozilla, fast, free and not bloated. I also like using this browser called Voyager from http://www.smartalec2000.com that uses the IE engine. I'm using their first version but I think their latest is called Voyager XG now.

 :frown:        - What do you want to feel today? :)

Yep, that's right, Opera 6 is Adware. Either you pay, or you enjoy the ads. Apart from that, Opera's not bad.

But I also think that Mozilla currently is the best choice for a browser. It's fast(!), it's free, and (quote from doom9.org) "It's the first browser in a long while that I didn't want to delete again after 5 minutes of use." - what is exactly the way I felt when using Mozilla.

Some days ago, they released the final Mozilla 1.0 - so go and get it!

Btw - there's already a v1.1 Alpha, but I'd highly recommend you to try Mozilla 1.0 final before messing around with the 1.1A... ;)
