I saw this on Newegg and thought it was a hell of a deal for its $1.499 instead of 1,899 which it is everywhere else.
Im just wondering why it has no reviews on newegg, is it new(as in new product out) or used(as in its old and this model has been used before or is open box or something?) and why is newegg selling it for alot less than others. I need a good gaming laptop with at least a 17" screen and good graphics that can last for at least 2+ years from now and i think this is it, any comments would be appreaicated, thanks.

The only thing that sticks out is the CPU. If you want it to last that long, you may want to consider a faster one. Actually it's kinda interesting. You could buy that laptop and a CPU upgrade and still be under the $1900 price tag of the others.

I'm pretty sure that legally, newegg has to tell you that it is used or an open box, so that is not likely the reason. This might be an item that they just got and want to promote it.

Just so you know, you can get a similar system from Dell (Inspiron 1720) for just a little more. You lose the 8700, but all that is is an overclocked 8600 which the 1720 has. I haven't used Toshiba before so I can't tell you about their reliability or service.

I've been looking at picking up a gaming laptop myself.

Thats actually not a bad system for the price. I would love to see it with at least a T7200, 2.0Ghz which has 4MB L2 Cache, and a 7200RPM hard drive to cut down on the loading times. I like the 8700M GT, thats a Class 1 mobile card. Its a tad heavy, but thats the price you pay for a 17" laptop. The 1 year warranty could be better.

Overall, its a pretty decent deal. Let me know what you find, and I'll keep you posted. :)

I have one question thou, i need something that will last a long time and wont break or or have problems with, can a laptop last longer than a desktop, which is more future proof and can last longer and reliable? For i heard laptops dont last long

Generally, a laptop isn't as future proof as a desktop, mostly because it's not upgradeable. Well, some of them are, but not to the point of desktops. Also, the higher heat in a laptop leads to a faster death among the components. Mostly for gaming, the laptop might get obsolete since technology evolves fast, and you can't always just stick in the new generation of cards.
