Quick Finale Question

I know this isn't the most appropriate group but it's simple and quick. I
just setup Finale 2003, and when I use 4/4 or C time signature, Finale
requires 6 quarter notes to fill the measure...if I add 4 quarter notes it
gives me 2 quarter rests left over. What gives?! Thanks!

It sounds like the time signature is selected as 6/4, and the "Use a
Different Time Signature for Display" box is checked, and the display
time signature is 4/4.

Look at the "more choices" option in the time signature dialog box, and
make sure the time signature in the top half, and what you want to
display is in the bottom half. Or, uncheck the "different time
signature" box.

Thankyou Mark and Doug,

I came home from work and re-opened a Finale project the exact same way as
before and I had no problem this time....another one for the twilight zone I
guess.....I've had similar problems with Reason, where it just seems to
completely malfunction at random while trying to automate bank changes. Only
solution seems to be trying new projects until one works. Thanks again, I'm
off on a good start to a new composition, a piano chorale in E......now I
just have to figure out how to use this MIDI data to call on my orchestral
samples in Halion...I'm assuming I can just export the MIDI files for each
part and use that.
