I want an MP3 jukebox that will allow me to run an entire folder of MP3's in random order. Simple enough? It also has to meet my high standards of low overhead and ultimate stability. Thanks for your suggestions!

What's the frequency, Kenneth?

What's wrong with Winamp? I didn't think it was bad at all, plus it has included crossfading support.

Yah, winamp isn't bad but it uses up a lot of memory.

If you dislike WinAmp, then I suggest using MusicMatch Jukebox.

I don't dislike anything, except Media Player. Just trying to get some opinions before I switch FROM Media Player.

Whoa...I wasn't aware that Winamp uses like 4MB, while WiMP uses 2MB. I thought it might be the other way around. Check out their processes in Task Manager...

In that case, if you just want an MP3player, use WinAMP, it's fairly light when it comes to system resources.
But if you want to do a whole bunch of cool things in addition to playing music, Jukebox will let you burn mp3s into .wma, .cda, (or other formats) directly to the CD-R without having to convert them yourself. It does a whole buncha other neat things too....try it out.
Oh, but winamp also lets you play 'Astroids'.

I guess it depends on what you load and any plugins.

I tried Winamp 2.65 minimized to a small bar with player and playlist playing a 66mb mp3 encoded 128kbps 44khz and it uses 4.75mb of mem on my win98se machine with 64megs of ram.

On my brothers machine with min. bar of player and playlist using 2.78c, it uses 9mb (yesterday) and 5.5mb (today) on his win2k machine with 1gb of ram. He has a bunch of mp3s in his playlist.

MusicMatch JukeBox 7.0 is a great Program, i would highly recommend it over Winamp.... Im not a big Winamp fan because of the way it looks, the button's are to dam small and it's hard to see anything, Plus Musicmatch can Convert stuff, Burn Mp3, Audio, and data Disc's it's deffinetly a Killer APP

Is this for the free version or the plus one?

(Nothing personal)

Both versions lets you burn, rip, and convert audio...but the plus version gives you about 5 billion extra features. And the basic version doesn't burn as fast as the plus one.
