I am the new owner of a Canon 20D and would like to know how others are
setting up the camera. I am using the 18-55 kit lens. The two areas I am
confused over are the Processing Parameters and the Color space ( sRGB or
Adoby RGB ) I shoot mostly people and landscapes ( the golf course ) . Any
information will be appreciated
Thanks for your time

You could set the camera to capture in raw format and handle everything in
post processing on your computer.

Thats what I do with the 10D because it gives me more latitude for
adjustments.

In raw mode I belive that the camera processing and color space settings are
moot.

As a newbee to the 20d I would suggest using sRGB since most of what you
will do will only need that color space (aRGB is a bit more robust but could
cause more problems unless you are ready to work in that environment).

The parameter setting of 2 gives you no added contrast, saturation or
sharpness. Pretty much when the camera builds the jpeg image, it will not do
any enhancing. If you want the pictures to look a bit more like point and
shoot, use parameter 1 which raises the sharpness, contrast and saturation.
The paramter settings only work on jpeg and now raw.

Since you are shooting green grass, parameter 1 may give you some added
color without having to use post processing to get it the way you want.

Ron,

Refer to pages 56 and 57 of your camera manual.
