Blank 4x6 Postcards..... help!

Hi I just got done hairdrying a 100 prints as the backside of my epson
4x6 glossy paper is not meant to take ink. As I see myself needing this
on a reaccurring basis... this is what I am looking for:

1) 4x6 paper to print in my picturemate printer. (precut, thank you)

2) Preferablly glossy on one side/matt on the other.

3) Heavy as can be.

4) Cheap.

I am even interested in strait up card stock, without fancy coatings.
Just as long as it prints OK and is precut.

Any Ideas?

I think the hardest requirement is the 4 x 6 precut. I agree that using
photo paper to do a two sided print is not good. Many photo papers have a
coating on the back to prevent bleed through and smudging of prints (since
photo paper tends to dry slower). Normal paper dries quick as the ink is
absorbed into the paper, but this can cause some blurring of fine detail.
So photo papers have a moisture resistant surface so the ink dries on the
surface, but dries a bit slower. So to resist having the ink on the
previous print, being soaked up by the back of the next print, the back is
frequently coated to repel (or resist) ink.

So I would suspect that you may have to look more towards standard (non
photo) papers. I have had very good luck with "multi purpose" papers from
my local office supply store (Staples, Office Depot, etc). You can even
get different weights of paper/card stock. I know I have seen precut and
perforated card stock in normal index card sizes, but I do not
specifically remember 4x6. But it may be worth a trip to your local office
supplier and ask. You may even be able to purchase in bulk lots (multiple
reams) to reduce the price greatly.

Two ideas:

1) www.redriverpaper.com has a great paper that is glossy on one side, matte
on the other and 4x6. Specifically for this.
2) The Epson paper prints perfectly on the reverse in a laser printer. Just
not in an inkjet. I make postcards for my family all the time.

I'v ebought some paper made specificall for postcards in the past, but don't know who
makes such paper now. An alternative is presentation paper, which is thick enough for a
postcard and allows printing on both sides.

I haven't tried it, but using a laser printer for the "back" might
work. I wonder if the laser heat would affect the inkjet's second
pass.

I have used Kodak Semi Glossy (now called 'soft gloss') for some time,
but the price has skyrocketed lately. It takes print well on both sides.

Thanks ya'll

I have found that staples sells 160 perfed postcards for 13 bucks, so I
think I am switching from my six ink picturemate printer to my epson
c84 and using those (two up on a 8.5 x 11)

never thought of the laser printer.
