Hey group!

I found this laptop at FutureShop.ca for 1099 CDN and it seems too good
to be true.

I've heard some rumblings that Averatec machines often have problems
and need to replaced (sometimes several times).

Does anyone here have an Averatec (formerly Sotec) notebook, preferably
this model? I would like to know what I'm getting into before I buy.

Try the unofficial Averatec forums:
http://www.averatecforums.com/

I have a three year old 3150H that is nothing special but it still runs
very well. It has survived several drops, bangs, and an inquisitive
baby (my grandson).

I have the smaller 3250 model. No problem so far on this admittedly
small statistical sample...

I'm happy with my 3270. I'm sure you can find more rumblings with hp,
Toshiba or dell, they sell more units. I'd much rather have my
averatec, at least it is small and light.
