Help Sharing Files Between Two Replays on the Same Net

My family room replay and my bedroom replay can see each other, see the
guides from each other, but cannot play files. My internet comes in the
family room and goes into a Microsoft Broadband router. The downstairs
replay is connected to it. One wire runs upstairs to a switch which covers
the entire second floor.

I've updated the software on both units, but they refuse to play from each
other. A trip into my attic for a clean wire run through my second story,
into my garage, into my garage attic, and then down to the family room seems
like a bit much. Any other ideas?

Try a different switch - make sure it's a 10/100 not just a 10. Does it
work without the switch? I have a similar setup with 2 behind one switch
that's connected to another switch with 2 more connected to that. No
problems using high speed switches.

You need to run 100Mb Full duplex for streaming to work decently. If you
don't knwo the difference between half-duplex and full-duplex it won't kill
you; but the quality of wiring must be there. I have managed to stream
standard quality shows across a HPNA device (rated for 14Mb, though more
like 6Mb) - but it eventually crashes one or both units.
