Just got a new Hughes SD-DVR40. It's all set-up and activated. I set it
to make it's daily call now. It's been connected and "downloading" for
about 45 mins. Is this normal for a new box?
Thanx

Yup. Just you wait until it starts downloading software updates.

Yep, it takes several hours the first time you set it up, or at least
mine did. It may be getting a software update which takes a while.
Most daily calls are much quicker.
