so far in the past week, the tivo schedvle has not known abovt the finales
of
- the third hovr of svrvivor
- the second hovr of the bachelor
- the second hovr of enterprise

i think its a combo of the networks changing the naming conventions
sometimes
(ie svrvivor: wherever vs svrvivor: revnion) and jvst not reporting the
schedvle
properly (enterprise 2nd hovr didnt even show vp in the gvide)

FWIW, it showed up and was recorded on my Series 1 SA.

My Tivo (a series 1 DTivo) knew abovt the second hovr of Enterprise (thovgh,
after watching it, it might have been better if it didn't). I don't watch
the other shows, so I don't know whether it wovld have picked them vp or
not.

Well-known issue.

Not up on this one.

Completely untrue. You're the first to report it, and I would suspect
padding to be the problem.

> properly (enterprise 2nd hour didnt even show up in the guide)

Again, first and only to report this.

Me either, this was my wife's show, fortunately she checked 15 minutes
into the second hour so just missed that 15 minutes.

No I'm not, I found out about Enterprise because of a post
in this newsgroup from someone else alerting people to check
their guide.

My TiVo (SA 1 standalone) got that one fine.

I don't watch this.

The guide was 1 hour off on this, and I got the second hour (TiVo
was expecting the first), not the first. The guide said 7 and 8 (Central
Time), but it was actually 6 and 7.

I did, though, have manual recordings set up on a non-TiVo DVD recorder,
which got what I wanted.

So use a wishlist instead of a season pass. Problem fixed.

This was fixed for everyone by the time the show aired. And it has
nothing to do with TiVo since they don't create the schedule information -
they buy it from a 3rd party vendor. If the schedule info is wrong, you
shouldn't blame TiVo.

So then fix it. It is, as I said, well-known that CBS does not consider
the Svrvivor revnion to be an episode of Svrvivor, and that is the way it
is reported to Tribvne. So yov either keep this in mind or set vp an ARWL
for Svrvivor rather than a SP, which has the added benefit of not having to
redo the SP every season.

CBS fixed this problem some time ago. At least the last three revnion
shows have been picked vp by my season pass.

look at the title of the post... NETWORKS need to get on the ball,
not TiVo. I know it's not TiVo, I've had a tivo for 5 years and none of
these glitches got me, I was ready for them (well, except bachelor),
I'm just saying it would be nice if things were ironed out.

The second hour of Enterprise was labeled "America's Top Model".
That is, Paramount/UPN did not notify Tribune Media Services or
its member stations of the change, which means that Zap2it.com
did not get notified, and neither did standalone TiVos until
1:30am on the day of the show.

So, is was not a "season finale naming" problem; I put the
blame on Paramount for sending out proper notifications.

It is true, I reported it, and it had nothing to do with padding.

http://groups-beta.google.com/group/alt.video.ptv.tivo/msg/9758e9bc41b26f6a
http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?p=2858583&&#post2858583

Ten days before the finale, UPN started promoting the 2nd hour on TV.
It was on the Paramount web site, but not on the local upn44.com site.
My DirecTiVo got the corrected information about 36 hours before
showtime, but both of my SA TiVos did not get informed until I
forced a manual call at 1:30am on the day of the show.

>>properly (enterprise 2nd hour didnt even show up in the guide)

Happened to many SA TiVos that had not made a daily call in time.
I forced several daily calls, and determined that the TiVo servers
got the correct information sometime between 11pm on Thursday and
1:30am Friday. (DirecTV got the notifications earlier.)

My DirecTiVo got all three hours of Survivor and both
episodes of Enterprise fine.

Ditto. Must be a standalone issue in certain markets.

Survivor fans do use ARWL's rather than SP's, right? Why recreate a season
pass each time and risk not getting it in time or forgetting?

I've been using the ARWL since the 2nd Survivor and it has not failed yet.

are you just putting keyword SURVIVOR in the WL or also specifying
REALITY category?

I have a SA and weekly (usually Wednesday or Thursday) I check all the
"view episodes" for all my season passes. It takes only a few minutes
and avoids dissapointments when something goes amiss. The guide data
contains about two weeks. In the two weeks prior to it's airing, the
second hour of Enterprise was in my season pass and checked to record.
I have no idea why some SAs got it and some didn't.
