Ok, over the past few days I have been researching this FTA stuff. I have a
bunch of questions. What is a good receiver to purchase? I want to
purchase a good all around receiver without spending too much. Any choices
on on a mpeg-2 fta? How about the KUSAT PRO 2600? It's cheap @ $95 CAD. Any
thoughts? I have located a Starchoice dish with single LNB. The dish is 30".
Will this serve my purpose? If this is ok to start with I may upgrade to a
larger dish later.

Please help out a newbie here.

You may want to go out and grab a 90cm or larger reflector, a diseqc motor is the best choice for a fta setup, you can also look around for a 10' try to get it free, and pop it up for c/ku feeds, though only if you have the room.

If you do go with a smaller reflector like a 90cm you can grab the invacom QPH031 to get both linear and circular feeds it works pretty good.
Good Luck
