i been had the dish for 5 months now, and it has been nothing but
problems, the signal keeps going out, i call the dish network people
many times to come to my home and check the dish, when they cam out they
fixed, but a month later there is more problems with the signal going
out, again, i've had the techs come out here 4 time now to fix the dish
so it can get a signal, now i am having the same problems again, and it
is getting frustrating, i have called them once again to come out and
check the dish, i don't know what the hell is going on, i am new at
having satellite tv, so i know nothing about how it works,

i been had cable for 25 years, and with all the problems i am having
with the dish, i am seriouly thinking about going back to cable tv, this
dish thing just ain't cuttin with me, i have to wait a whole week before
they send a tech out here to check my dish, that is not right, i ditched
cable for this?, i am now sorry that i did.

why is there so many problems with the dish?, can you tell me what to
do?.

Rita,

Sorry about your problem. I've had DirecTV for 8 years and NO problems.
Many, many others have satellite TV and NO problems, so the technology is
solid. Apparently the technicians coming to your house don't know their
business. I would suspect that it's an intermittent cable connection
between your antenna and the receiver. Checking the signal strength while
wiggling the cable connections could provide a clue. Also, do you have a
CLEAR path from your antenna to the open sky?

In any case, keep calling the technicians! They'll get sick of you calling
and they might actually earn their pay and fix your system. Believe me,
satellite is the way to go. It's digital!

Oooops, I didn't think of that. Perhaps Rita should reply with a comment!
If not, you're probably right. It's amazing how so many people ask for help
or comments, get replies, but never acknowledge the responses.
