Hi There is already a Tom's Hardware Guide UD Team. I started it. I woork for Tom's Hardware Guide. You can do a search. The name of the Team is Tom's Hardware Guide. I just searched but it gave me an error. But on the teams list we are already number 5,000 out of 10,000 and that is just me. If we get more members soon, I will dedicate more PCs. I have about 4 here now and I will have more soon. I will give you the URl when I can access it.

You have to search for "Harware Guide" It doesn't like the search Tom's I guess it is the apostrophe. I will write an email to UD to get them to fix their search engine.

Come on over. I will keep adding the PCs and trying to recruit others. I have 4 here 4 somewhere else...and I will add some more soon. Not all highend setups, but I keep upgrading. With these kind of members on the Tom's Hardware Guide UD team, it should be some nice competition.

So, how often do they update the stats on this UD thing? The team stats say last updated 51 hours ago. Is it every week or what? I notice it says team member stats are updated daily but what about the overall team stats? But if this included the overall team stats I think my results would start showing up by now.

You actually picked a bad time
The team stats are updated once every 24 hours, and your member stats are updated once every 210 minutes, approxamately.
At the time you asked this they were updating the UD agent to a new version and were updating the statistics.
All is well now =)

Ahhh, Thanks. You know, I really think AMDZONE has plenty of UD members. I don't think you would hurt their feelings if you left their team. After all, surely you would like a challenge. Where's the challenge when you have 1860 members. Going at it with 4 members is challenge. Sure we may never reach the top 10% but still.

well i probably have some 15,000 points earned just from one PC. might be interesting to join...
know if its possible to transfer points over?
P.S. the recent batch of UD jobs have been very intensive... lots of hits. i got 140 hits with one! had to run my athlon 1350 for half a day!

heres something possibly interesting.
comparing CPU temps... UD, seti@home & toast.
when u put your cpu under load the temps go up (DERR)
how much its used determines the rise (also DERR)
now toast uses ALL the cpu's pipelines as much as it can, and on my PC i get up to 48C.
seti@home less at 46C
UD runs for hours at 44C
and idle temps are around 37-39C.
thus due to the nature of the UD tasks its obvious that the program is definately NOT using all the cpu's pipelines... probably hogging the arithmetic ones or something.
a possible reason why P4 users also experience good performance.
Excuse me for a moment. I need to drive my ergonomic wheely chair over a sheet of bubble wrap!
