KDS 15" monitor drivers?

I gave my old PII 233 bare bones, to my friend as he didn't have the cash to grab a new computer. Problem was that the reason that I got a new computer in the first place was that the HD had crashed on me, so before giving it away, I reformatted and installed WinME with no problems.

Everything works fine, except that I can now only set the display at 16 colours. When I was using it, I had it set at 16 bit true color (I think). Anyway, the only thing I changed from when I was using it was that I removed the SB Live sound card and the 10/100 ethernet card. Other than that everything is the same.

Monitor is a 15" KDS KD-1500GN. Went on their website to update the drivers that model is not listed. I downloaded all the different drivers for the 15" models, and tried each, and still only the 16 colour option with 640X480 res option.

I can't for the life of me figure out how I was using it before with a higher res and different colour setting.

Another question, is it possible to enable sound playback through the PC speaker without a soundcard cuz as of right now, I can't get a peep out of it...

apparently you have an orchestra monitor which was made by KDS. If you look at the chart your monitor is classified as a HORN according to orchestra. And if you look here<A HREF="http/www.kdscanada.ca/kdsinf.htm" target="_new">http/www.kdscanada.ca/kdsinf.htm</A>you'll find the download for the HORN driver. Its actually a win 98 driver but who knows. And yes, this is very strange.

If this doesn't work I would suggest searching for orchestra drivers instead of the kds drivers and remember yours is classified as a HORN.

Finally walked them through the install of the new Orchestra Drivers, and still nothing. WinME now says Monitor is Orchestra Horn 15". Do you have to reboot for the changes to take place as I can still only select 16 colour? Only other hypothesis is that WinME says the graphics adapter is VGA only and I need to update to graphics adaptor to enable more that 16 colour. Anyone? If I can't figure it out, I just gonna buy a video card cuz I'm guessing the onboard one only supports 16 colour.
