Sony KD-34XBR960 HDTV: PAL possible or VGA connector?

I'm believe that my parents in the US bought this HD-TV (CRT)screen.
However they hang out here in Europe (PAL land) quite abit and I'm trying to
help out abit with PAL DVDs from Europe.

I've got two questions that perhaps someone can help with:

* Is there any chance that the above TV can handle a PAL DVD player?
(Sony TVs in Europe can handle NTSC, so it all works the other way around)

* Does anyone know if there a VGA connector on this TV ?
(To hook up a PC+DVDROM and get PAL DVDs working through that as an
alternative..)

Dreadful alternative. A cheap Cyberhome $45 DVD player will play anything
you throw at it on a U.S. TV. (PAL/NTSC)

As also the better alternative will, Philips DVP 642/37 with progressive
scan and component video outputs. All for USD$69.

It's multiregion out of the box.

Sony doesn't put VGA connectors on their TVs. Just DVI, which (at least
on their CRT sets) crops the overscan area just like an analog input.
Even going into the service menu on mine still won't let it show the
first few lines of the picture. And the standard HDTV scan rates don't
match the standard computer scan rates, which makes things much more
difficult.

Right. If all he wants is to play PAL DVDs in the US, a computer to TV
connection is NOT worth the effort.
