Will you help me interpret this C++ compiler error?

I'm trying to compile a simple C++ program I downloaded from a website. The compiler is giving me an error but I'm not sure what it means or how to fix it. The compiler output is as follows:

Process started >>>
In file included from C:\ECHOSIDE\prog\Calc\calc.cpp:1:0:
C:\ECHOSIDE\prog\Calc\/global.h:1:44: fatal error: iostream.h: No such file or directory
compilation terminated.
<<< Process finished.
cmd /c "C:\ECHOSIDE\prog\Calc\a.exe"
Process started >>>
'C:\ECHOSIDE\prog\Calc\a.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
<<< Process finished.
================ READY ================

I am using Notepad++ NppExec with the MinGW compiler. The .cpp source code is:

#include "global.h" //header files, function prototypes, & classes

void setcolor(unsigned short color)
{
HANDLE hCon = GetStdHandle(STD_OUTPUT_HANDLE);
SetConsoleTextAttribute(hCon,color);
}

int main()
{
C.I = 1;
setcolor(C.I); // changes the color
printf("color: %d\n", C.I); // prints the color ID

cout << " ______ _______ _ ______\n";
cout << "| ____| | ___ | | | | ____|\n";
cout << "| | | | | | | | | |\n";

I'm new to C++, so thank you for any help you can provide.

It looks as if your mingw environment is not set up correctly, so it is unable to find the standard header files. I am not familiar with mingw so I don't know the details of configuring it properly; you should probably read the installation intructions and check that you did everything correctly.

TBH, it is much easier on Windows to use Visual Studio Express rather than messing about with third-party compilers and IDEs.

Thank you for your response Ijack. I'm finding what you said to be true. I've spent more time trying to get all these third party components configured than I have learning the language. As a beginner, I'm going to try Visual Studio Express instead.
