Hello tomshardware community members,

I am having trouble updating to the latest version of Java. I have windows 7 64-bit and Java asks me to update to Java 7 Update 13. When I do so, it says this:

"The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.

Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate pathway to a folder containing the installation package 'jre1.7.0_07-c.msi' in the box below."

I searched the files on my computer and cannot find this file. I go to uninstall programs in the control panel and find the only version of Java I have on my computer is Java 7 update 11 which cannot be uninstalled without this jre1.7.0_07-c.msi file either. I found a person on yahoo answers that has a similar problem and tried doing their fix but after installing the old version of java, I can only locate jre1.7.0_07.msi not the jre1.7.0_07-c.msi that is required.

The Java website asks for $1/minute to chat with their specialist. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tried Ms FixIt instead (MajorGeeks abandoned the other) and worked! Thanks, since Revo Uninstaller and others didn't work. Have been looking for 2 months for this problem. *BOW*
