Basically My desktop is a mess and needs to be cleaned up. Do you guys use a specific system, or program to organize your desktop?
Because right now I basically have 40 icons, most of which I use often.

In a nut shell, How should I organize my desktop? use a program? a docking apple look alike ? or some kind of window system? or just folder? what is best for you ?

Thanks for any and all suggestions. :D

A simple solution is to create folders on the desktop and place similar applications in those folders. I know it means one extra step to open a program but it will eliminate the need for an extra program. For example if you have shortcuts to games on the desktop you could create a folder named games and drag the game shortcuts to that folder.

Some laptops (i.e. Dell) have such software built in windows...almost looks like a quick switch toolbar and allows your to browse quickly through multiple "icons" or programs fairly easily. That said, 40+ icons would be a little too much for such add-ons.

That said, 2 applications comes to mind (some you can even get for free or at fairly low cost)...

Although this one "The ViPad" is free and should help you better manage your desktop. If you download it (regardless from where), make sure you scan for any viruses, etc. Simply google it.

Hope this helped.
