My Elderly father decided to get one of those Blockbuster Kiosk dvds that are in supermarkets and put it in my pc to play it. If you have used these dvd's, you know many of them are corrupted (freezes, color distortions, extreme pixelation, graphical problems). MY question is: Could someone just put a virus in one of the dvd's and send it back, AND if it is simply corrupted, could it have damaged my computer in some way?

Please don't tell me something about getting an antivirus (I have one)or something that is vaguely on topic, I want something straightforward.
