Hi!

I have accidentally formatted a Seagate USB drive containing 180 GB of important data. Is it possible to to recover it?
I am trying the Easeus Data Recovery program.
It has worked well for me in the past, but this time it seems to pick up only the files which are already there..( I have started backing up a few files after the wipe-out).

Any suggestions? Any other software I may try? I am on Windows 7.

Thank you

Ittiandro

The first rule of data recovery is "As soon as you discover that you need to recover a drive, DO NOT WRITE ANY MORE DATA TO IT"

I use Easeus as well and have had very good luck with it. When attempting this recovery, make sure you tell the program to ignore the MFT (Master File Table). This should make it show any files not referenced in the existing MFT on the drive (which was replaced when you accidentally formatted the drive)
