Hey everyone, I recently bought an Xbox 360 wired controller to use with my PC. It works fine, but when I plug it in the audio stops working. I assumed it was related somehow to the controller. And it sucks playing games when there's no audio.

Additional evidence: I was using Songbird (iTunes clone), and the audio wasn't working. So I unplug the 360 controller and I get some error message about audio drivers and whatnot. I'm not sure how the controller would be messing with my audio drivers...

Any help is appreciated, thanks

Go to control panel, sound and audio, hardware, USB devices, and disable it.

The issue stems from the computer thinking that the xbox controller is an audio device, and giving it priority when it is plugged in. I bet if you had a headset plugged in that you would get audio through there too. Sorry this is a year late.
