Hello,

I have built a collection of over 600 original DVDs and CDs of movies, TV series, cartoons, documentaries etc. I'm a film student & it's a passionate hobby of mine...it's now worth over $10,000. I've got stuff from the early 1900s to the latest movies.

I'd now like to make back-up copies of ALL my stuff so that I can seal the originals away and never touch them again while still being able to watch them via the copies.

1. How do I go about doing this? I've heard of DVD duplicators but I hear that today's DVDs are protected and cannot be duplicated. Software-wise, the drag-n-drop technique isn't working & I'm not a software expert but I hear that there is software out there that can do this. I do however want to maintain the QUALITY of the picture together with the menu interface and whatnot. My backups should play just as the originals.

2. Is this legal? It is for personal use but I also lend to a lot to friends & friends of friends...hell I'm like the neighbourhood cinema :D

3. Can I also remove those horrid region lockouts? Region coding is a sin!

Thanks :bounce:

edit: totally irrelevant bouncing green smiley there...
