I've been using nero 7 for quite some time but it wasn't till recently that i started to use more of the multimedia features. I'm not to happy with nero recode as the video files are not compatible with my creative zen.

I was wondering if it would be worth while to upgrade to nero 8 or even switch to roxio. Roxio seems a bit more open as it offers support for a wider range of codecs.

My system
Windows Vista Ultimate x64
Cpu Q6600
Ram 8GB

Any advice and opinions are welcome.

I wouldn't use either one, after look at/using Ashampoo burning studio,
it far one of the best.. Check it out, they make a free version as well.

Well I got roxio 10 while it was on sale for about 50 bucks. and i'm kinda regretting it. stability is questionable and it burns really slow. I've looked at the website and ashampoo seems rather basic. I use the media encoding features in nero and roxio alot. I'm too lazy to work with the freeware that's out there. Do you know if ashampoo works with xvid, divx, wma, and wma HD? Also ashampoo only specifies support for vista x86 "32 bit" do you know first hand if it will work with vista x64?
