I know there is a button combo that pulls up the signal strength on the SA
Explorer 3100, I just can't recall what the button combo was. Any help is
appreciated. Also should the signal strength I will be looking for is
0-15db's? Or what is good signal strength?

Thanks

That good signal. for your foward data chanel FDC signal must be between
-15 and 15. Even at -16 you won't get any picture channel. fdc is use
only for guide information. For your RDC there is nothing to do except
to redure your insertion lost comming from your main cable entrance.
ex:use a 2 way splitter if you have 2 tv's an not a 3 way splitter...
same way DON'T use a splitter to make a jonction, use a regular f-81
femele to f-81 female to make your jonction. by removing equivalent of
a splitter on a cable line you'll see your rdc dropping from 3.5dbmv and
your fdc and/or level getting 3.5dbmv of signal.

hope I ansered your question
