How to Set Up a MicroSD Card on your Roku Device

What do we need a MicroSD card on our Roku device for? Simple, it will add more storage space for our favorite shows. MicroSD cards have the great advantage of coming in different sizes and being virtually inexpensive. Also great is that they can be exchanged and you can have more than one ready to go to swap out.

The MicroSD feature is not meant to be a media input for your Roku Device, but a receiving end. You won´t be able to play any files stored, but you will be able to store games and channels.

Step 1
Find the Slot and Insert the MicroSD Card
Your Roku 2 device has the MicroSD card slot right on top of the HDMI port. You can´t go wrong with it, it´s labeled and is the only thing you can input there.

Step 2
Automatic Detection
Your Roku 2 device will automatically detect the MicroSD card was inserted and hence, you will have a pop-up on your TV screen informing you exactly that.

■ Make sure no sensitive content you want to keep is stored in the card before input because once formatted, it can´t be restored.

You will receive the last pop up informing you that the MicroSD is ready for use. Hit ‘OK’ and enjoy.
