How to Find and Delete Similar Photos in the MacBook Pro

More often than not we end up copying the same file twice to our PC from any of our various storage devices or cameras. And if you are someone who considers photography as their profession you probably suffer from this problem much more than the rest of the population. Apart from the fact that this renders finding a photo difficult by increasing the total number of photos on your PC, another huge problem which copying the same photo twice leads to is filling up of the computer space. So to get rid of this problem on your MacBook Pro, follow these steps:

Step 1
Head over to the iTunes store and download the ‘Cisdem Duplicate Finder’ app for your MacBook Pro.

Step 2
Once you install the software and launch it, it should look something like this.

Step 3
Click on the ‘Plus’ button and in the dialog box which opens select the folder where your photos are stored.

Step 4
Once you have added the folder to it, click on the settings icon on the top right corner, and set the settings to such that it scans by file content and removes directly to trash. Once done, click ‘OK’.

Step 5
Click on the ‘Scan’ button and the scanning process should start immediately.

Step 6
Click on the ‘All’ tab and select any of the files on the side to see where its duplicate photo is stored. You can also preview both the photos by clicking on their directory paths.

Step 7
Click on the ‘Delete’ button on the bottom right corner to delete the duplicate photo after previewing it.

There you go! Simple and easy way to delete all duplicate image files from your MacBook Pro.
