How to Remove the Clutter in Your Amazon Fire TV Homescreen

The Amazon Fire TV has become an instant hit with the tech crazy generations of today. And why not, since it allows multiple streaming services, along with usability of various apps including music and games on your TV! However, what this leads to is a highly cluttered homescreen and after a while finding a particular app in it can become a tedious task. And users are complaining since the Amazon Fire TV does not have any option to clear up this space.

But there is always a way around things. In this article we tell you how to remove the clutter in the homescreen of your Fire TV. It requires ‘Downloading an App’, adding a ‘Third Party Mod’ to your OS, and also a ‘Mouse connected to the TV’.

Setting Up the App
Step 1
Search for the app ‘Xposed Framework’ in Google Play Store on your Fire TV and install it.

Step 2
Go to the ‘Applications’ menu in the settings and launch the ‘Xposed Framework’ app.

Step 3
Select the ‘Framework’ option and install it.

Step 4
A pop-up will appear asking to grant permissions, do so, and another will appear asking to reboot, do so as well.

Setting Up the Mod
Step 1

Search for the ‘rbox’ website and download their Fire TV mod.
Step 2
Sideload the ‘Downloaded’ mod.

Step 3
Launch ‘Xposed Framework’ and select the modules option.

Step 4
Select the ‘RboxFireTVMod’, you will require a mouse to do this.

Step 5
Exit both the apps and 'Reboot' your Fire TV by holding down ‘Select’ and ‘Play’ buttons on the remote.

Removing Menu Items
Step 1
Open up the ‘Settings’ option in your menu.

Step 2
There will be a new option added ‘Menu Items’, select it.

Step 3
Select the app you don’t want to be displayed on the home screen and choose the ‘Hidden’ option.

Step 4
Reboot your Fire TV like last time.

Things to Note
  • ■The Fire TV needs to be above version 5.1 in order for this to work.
    ■If the version is below 5.1, then you can root the Fire TV to make this work.
    ■You will need to know how to sideload applications.
    ■You will need to know how to connect a mouse to your TV.
