How to Find and Create Memoji In iOS 12

Advanced version of Animoji and new in iOS 12, Memojis are the custom faces that you build in your iPhone and define your preferred physical attributes to them such as hairstyle, eye color, eyebrow style, etc.

Once you create a Memoji, it is stored along with other Animoji, and can mimic your facial movements and expressions upon recording. This recording can then be sent your friends and family members as an iMessage.

Creating a Memoji is simple. Here’s how:

■Launch the Messages app
Tap the Messages icon from the Dock of your iPhone, and tap an existing recipient (or add a new one while drafting a new message) you want to send the Memoji to. This opens the conversation box for the selected recipient with multiple app icons below the text input field at the bottom. These icons can be tapped to launch their corresponding apps and add files as attachments while sending the message(s).









■Initiate the Memoji creation process
Tap the Animoji icon from the bottom, swipe your finger to the right, and tap the + (New Memoji) icon. This opens a new window that lets you create a Memoji. Make sure to keep your face within the view (directly in front of the Front Camera) in order to get real-time feedback as how the Memoji would look upon completion and also when animated.






■Create a Memoji

Use the available options to pick your preferred skin tone, freckles, hairstyle, etc. (swipe the style type bar (above the options pane) to the right or left to navigate among different styles), and tap Done from the top-right of the screen when you’re done adding/editing the physical attributes. This creates the Memoji with your selected features, saves it along with other Animoji, and takes you back to the Animoji list. From this point onward, you can tap to select the Memoji, tap the Record button, record your facial expressions and movements for the Memoji to mimic, and preview and send the Memoji to your selected recipient.
