The Quest Invader in the Waste is not a very challenging quest as you already know the monster and have fought with him before. But still, you should read the guide given below to make sure you complete the quest in the first try:
Walkthrough:
This is the first quest of High-Rank Hunts and has the similar objective that most of the quests have which is to hunt a monster. And the more surprising thing is that you have hunted this monster before. But, this time, this monster has a high rank so you will receive more damage from its hits. The objective of this quest is to hunt the Pukei-Pukei which you have fought before. So the benefit is that you know its movements, attacks and weaknesses already. You have the experience of facing this monster.

So if you complete this quest successfully, you will be rewarded with a decent amount of 7200z. You will be given a 50 minutes time period for completing the quest and if you don’t complete it in that time, you will fail the quest. You will also fail it if you faint three times during it. Lastly, you will need a hunter rank of 11 or higher for starting this quest. So with everything out of the way, let’s start the quest:
- When it comes to finding the Pukei-Pukei, you should make your way to the AREA 2 as you will start to see signs of Pukei-Pukei there. Once you go there, start investigating the signs and fill up your scout fly level.

- Once you scoutfly level is up, you will be able to track it. Once you track it down, you will then need to engage the monster. You have the benefit of knowing this monster but the problem is that it is a higher rank Pukei-Pukei so it will come off as more aggressive.

- The monster has the same openings as the lower rank version so it will be easy for you to attack it. Just make sure that you attack its weak parts. The head, wing and tail are breakable and the head is the most susceptible to damage so make sure to target it as well. Also keep in mind that it is weak to thunder and somewhat to fire and ice.

- So with these things in your mind, start the fight and keep on fighting the monster until you don’t kill it. Make sure to avoid its aggressive attacks and only attack when you see an opening otherwise you may get a counter-attack which may lead to you getting fainted.
Once you have killed the monster, carve it and you will be able to complete the quest. As the quest ends, you will receive the reward of 7200z.
