How to Fix It When the Amazon Fire TV Remote is Not Working

Navigating menus and options on your Amazon Fire TV is simple using the Fire TV remote. But if the remote develops a fault, it becomes difficult to input instructions into your Fire TV. The module itself does not have any specialized buttons for it.
Fixing the remote in Fire TV is not that difficult. You can easily see to it by following these steps.

1. Check the battery.
Open the battery lid at the back of your remote. Take the batteries out and replace them with a new set. Close the lid again. One of the main reasons the Fire TV remote may not work is the batteries might be dead. If that is the case, the problem should be resolved.
If your batteries are fairly new, open the back lid and take them out. Try changing their positions, and put them back in. If the batteries were not positioned or connected properly, your remote will start working now.

2. Hold the Home button
Hold the ‘Home button’ on your remote for about 10 seconds. After this, wait for a couple of minutes before trying to use the remote again. This will re-initialize the Bluetooth connection with the Fire TV module and start your remote. If there were any glitches in connection, re-initiating will fix the problem.

3. Power cycle.
Unplug the power connection to your Fire TV module. To do this, simply remove the USB connection that is powering the module. If there is any problem in system configuration, forcibly re-starting your Fire TV should erase the temporary memory and data log, thereby starting a fresh Bluetooth connection with the remote.
