How to Make Use of Touch ID on Your MacBook Pro

The touch ID on your MacBook Pro is a fingerprint sensor, designed to serve as a form of biometric security. It allows you to access your computer without entering a password. If you are using a 15-inch, 2016 MacBook Pro or later, or a 13-inch, 2016 MacBook Pro with four Thunderbolt 3 Ports, or later, you will find the Touch ID (power button) is on the right side of the Touch Bar at the top of the keyboard.
To activate the touch ID on your MacBook Pro, follow the steps listed below. After configuring Touch ID, as long as you're logged in you will be able to use your fingerprint rather than typing when asked for your password.

Step 1
Ensure your fingers are clean and dry.
Sweat, moisture, oils, lotion, cuts and dry skin may affect fingerprint recognition. If you’ve just completed a workout, or you just got out of the shower or swimming pool, make sure your fingers are clean and dry before setting up Touch ID.

Step 2
Launch the Apple Menu > then click on System Preferences.
