How to Transfer Media Files From Your iPhone to Your MacBook Pro

Most of us use our iPhone’s camera, video player, and audio player. It has become the compact multimedia hub to turn to, at work or play. But you might want to free up more space on your iPhone at times, or you need to process a photo or video on your MacBook Pro.
It isn’t very difficult to transfer media files from your iPhone to your MacBook Pro. You can easily do it by following these steps.

How to Transfer Media with AirDrop

1.) Select photos
Open 'Photos' on your iPhone and click on 'Select' to choose the photos and videos you want to transfer.

2.) Share button
On the bottom left, you can see the 'Share button'. Touch it. You will be taken to a screen where you can choose how to share these photos and videos.

3.) Select AirDrop
Choose the 'AirDrop option' on your screen. You will be shown a list of all the available devices on your Wi-Fi network. Select your MacBook Pro.

4.) Check the Downloads folder
Check the Downloads folder on your MacBook Pro. You will see that you will have received the files over Wi-Fi.

How to Transfer Media over a USB cable

1.) Connect USB cable
Connect your iPhone to MacBook via USB or Lightning. You might have to use an adapter sometimes.

2.) Open “Photos” in MacBook
Open the 'Photos App 'on your MacBook.

3.) Click “Import”
Click on the 'Import tab' in “Photos”. You will see the photos and videos that are on your iPhone.

4.) Select photos
Select the 'Photos and Videos' you want to import.

5.) Choose to import
Select on the 'Import button' at the top right corner of your screen. The photos and videos will have been sent to your MacBook.
