Fortnite Battle Royale - Best Keyboard Controls Layout (Used by Myth)

One thing that is annoying and frustrating about FPS games is that these games have a lot of functions. And virtually all of the functions are useful, so that means a lot of keyboard keys to use. Same is the case with Fortnite Battle Royale. There are a lot of different functions like for swapping weapons, movement controls, fighting controls, building controls, and special controls, etc. The thing is that virtually all of these controls are important to use and cannot be neglected. So if you don’t know a perfect layout for your keyboard controls, then a time will come when you will become frustrated. To avoid this, you need to set controls that are easy to remember and more importantly within your reach. This is the reason that I am going to tell you a layout for controls that is used by “Myth” who is one of the pioneers of Fortnite Battle Royale. So let’s get started:

Note: Before you try out these controls, please keep in mind that it is not necessary that you find the controls used by Myth as useful as he does. You may have different gaming sense and style so it can affect your playing ability. But there is no harm in trying.

Weapons:

As you know, you have four weapon slots, and you may need to switch to different weapons quickly. Now one way to do that I to go to inventory and then select the weapons. The other way is to bind weapon slots to nearby keys. Here is the key layout used by Myth, he is using a slightly different set of keys than the default ones:

• Q for weapon slot 1
• 1 for weapons slot 2
• 2 for weapon slot 3
• 3 for weapon slot 4

Remember, Myth uses these keys because these are close to his WASD movement keys. You can use other keys if your movement controls are elsewhere.

Actions:

For actions that include jumping and crouching, Myth has kept it super simple and super close. He uses standard spacebar for jumping but has changed the crouching key. He now uses Left Ctrl for crouching. And I can personally vouch for the usefulness of this key layout for actions as I use the same. It is pretty helpful.

Building:

Now comes the real deal, the thing Myth is famous for; building. For building slots, Myth has kept it super simple. He uses the following keys for building slots:

• Z for Building Slot 1 (Wall)
• X for Building Slot 2 (Platform)
• C for Building Slot 3 (Ramp)
• F4 for Building Slot 4

The best thing about this type of key binding for building is that you will do everything from the keyboard. The reason that I am saying this is because many players including Ninja use mouse buttons to build and that can be problematic for players like me who don’t own a mouse with buttons.

Miscellaneous:
Some other mixed functions that Myth has set his keyboard’s keys for include Use, Repair/Upgrade, Switch Quickbar and Trap Slot. The key mapping for these functions is:

• E for Use
• F for Repair/Upgrade
• Q for Switch Quickbar
• F5 for Trap Slot.

This is it; these are the controls that the legendary Myth uses. Now it doesn’t mean that these will work for you as well. Just try them if they don’t work for you, try to adjust keys according to your convenience.
