How to Stop Twitter Notifications

Twitter notifications are a great way to keep you updated on the events that happen in Twitter. They are sent to you for follows, likes, direct messages and so on. While it’s a neat option to have sometimes it can get annoying.

When that happens or if you just don’t want to be notified anymore every time something happens, it’s time to turn them off. It’s fairly straightforward as you will see for yourself. So, here we go.

    ■ Open your favorite browser and type www.twitter.com in the address bar and press Enter.

    ■ Log in by entering your credentials (username/email address and password) and clicking the Log In button, If you’re not already logged in.

    ■ In the upper-right corner of the page, click on your profile picture.

    ■ A dropdown-menu will appear. Find and click on Settings and privacy.

    ■ In here, click on every check-box to turn off the notification for that setting. You can turn them all off if you wish and when you’re done, click on the red Save changes button.

    ■ Again, on the left side of the page, below Notifications, click on Web Notifications.

    ■ Settings in here might already be turned off, but if they’re not, do the same procedure as in the last step. Alternatively, you can just click on the Turn off button, in the upper portion of the page, to disable them all.

    ■ If you ever change your mind, and want to turn on the notifications, the process is the same. For now, you won’t be getting any notifications.
