What Is The Facebook Privacy Checkup? Everything You Need To Know

Facebook and privacy go hand in hand. It’s important to know how to secure your privacy on the world’s largest social network, and the Privacy Checkup option will help with that.

It allows you to review your posts and information from your profile, including your phone number and/or email address. Here’s how you can adjust your privacy settings via Privacy Checkup.


  1. Open your favorite browser, type www.facebook.com in the address bar, and press Enter.

  2. If you’re not already logged in, enter your credentials and click Log In.



  3. On the Home page, click on the question mark icon in the top right of the page



  4. In the displayed menu, click on the Privacy Checkup.



  5. Here you can see three steps regarding privacy checkup with Facebook explaining each one. Clicking on the Learn More button will open a new page with more information on that step. Click the Next button to go through this mini-tutorial.



  6. When you reach the third and the last step and are finished with all the changes, just press the Finish Up button. If you want to change something later, you can just repeat this process.

  7. Alternatively, you can get more info on Privacy Checkup by clicking on the Help Center link, in the question mark displayed menu.



  8. Navigate your cursor to the Privacy and Safety menu and in the displayed dropdown menu, click on Your Privacy.



  9. Once there, on the left side of the page, click on the Control Who Can See What You Share.



  10. On the top of the new page you’ll find the link What's the Privacy Checkup and how can I find it? Clicking on it will give you all the necessary information on privacy checkup.
