With the recent privacy Cambridge Analytica scandal, Facebook’s privacy policy is once again in the spotlight. As the world biggest social network, Facebook is keen on collecting data on its users and monetizing it in various ways
Therefore, it’s important to know how exactly does the network collect the information, what that information is, how it uses it, and so on. Don’t forget that all the information Facebook collects is shared and used in some way or another. Here is how you can find out what their privacy policy contains:
■ Type www.facebook.com in the address bar of your browser and press Enter.
■ Enter your credentials in the required fields and press Log in, if you’re not already logged in.
■ On the home page, located on the right side next to your feed at the very bottom, click the Privacy link.
■ On the left side of the Privacy page, you can see eight sections explaining different aspects of data collected. You can click on any of them to get more information on that topic.
■ In addition, there are also sections concerning Facebook services, such as ads control, cookies policy, as well as additional resources.
■ Alternatively, you can also click on the Privacy Basics to get a more simplified overview of the company’s policy.
■ Once you review all the information, you can set the different privacy setting to your liking so that Facebook only collects and uses what you want.
