If you’re a recent convert to Android, you will likely have quite the collection of media on iTunes that you don’t want to buy again or want to contemplate arranging on a new app. Fortunately, there are a couple of ways to sync Android with iTunes.
The first uses Google Play Music and the second uses Apple Music for Android. You can sync manually using USB, but this is time consuming.
Sync Android with iTunes and Google Play Music
You will need to download Google Music Manager or Google Play Music for Chrome onto your computer and have the Google Play Music app on your Android device to make this work.
1. Open Google Music Manager or Google Play Music on your computer and log in.
2. Select the location of the music you want to import, which would be iTunes. Google Music Manager will begin uploading.
3. Open the Google Play Music app on your Android device and select My Library.
4. The Google Play Music app syncs automatically with Google Music Manager so you should see the media being imported appear in the app. You can now play them on your device.
Sync Android with iTunes and Apple Music for Android
Apple Music for Android is one of very few official Apple apps made for the competing OS. It allows Android converts to still use iTunes even if they have switched allegiance to Android.
1. Download the Apple Music app onto your Android device.
2. Log in with your Apple ID and use it as you would iTunes.
3. You can now access existing playlists, bought music, recommendations and everything you would normally use with iTunes.
Apple Music for Android isn’t without its problems but at least it’s the ‘official’ way to use iTunes with Android. There are lots of third-party apps that do it better though.
