There are lots of reasons why you might want to block numbers from calling you. From telemarketing to ex-partners and everything in-between. The reasons aren’t important but the fact that you can easily block numbers on your Galaxy S7 is. Here’s how.

Even if you keep your number unlisted, telemarketers and companies somehow get hold of it and think you’re fair game for whatever they are selling. Fortunately, Android Marshmallow introduced a much easier way to block such callers. You can also stop them messaging you.

Blocking a number will stop you being alerted with a ringtone but it won’t stop the caller leaving you a voicemail. They are easily deleted though.

1. Open the phone app on your S7.
2. Open the Recent app and find the number you want to block.
3. Press and hold that number.
4. Select Block number and confirm.

Or:

1. Open the phone app on your S7.
2. Select More and then Settings.
3. Select Call rejection and the option you want to use.
4. Enter the number you want to block.
5. Tap Contacts and select the one you want to block.
6. Or block calls from unknown called by toggling Unknown to On.
