How do I take screenshots on my Samsung Galaxy S7

There are a number of reasons you might want to take a screenshot with your Galaxy S7. You might want to prove a point, troubleshoot an issue or use it for bragging rights. Whatever your reasoning, Samsung have made it simple to take screenshots on a Samsung Galaxy S7, here’s how.

There are actually two ways you can take a screenshot.

The button screenshot method
Using the buttons to take a screenshot is how Android user typically do it.

1. Get your screen ready with whatever it is you want to capture.
2. Press and hold the power and home buttons at the same time.
3. The phone will take the image, make the shutter sound and depending on your phone, make a small animation to say the screenshot was taken.

Hand swipe screenshot method
Another way to take screenshots on a Samsung Galaxy S7 is by swiping with the edge of your hand.

1. Get your screen ready with whatever it is you want to capture.
2. Touch the screen and then swipe the edge of your hand from one side to the other. The motion works in either direction.
3. The phone will take the image, make the shutter sound and depending on your phone, make a small animation to say the screenshot was taken.

If this method doesn’t work, you may have to enable it.

1. Select Apps, Settings and then Advanced Features.
2. Select Palm swipe to capture and toggle it on.
3. Perform the hand swipe screenshot method to test.

Whichever method you use, a couple of useful features can be found in Smart capture options. They appear at the bottom of the screen after you take screenshots on the Samsung Galaxy S7. Capture more is a particularly useful one if you’re capturing web pages as it allow you to scroll down to screenshot the entire page.
