For some reason, charging problems have been part of Android life for years. It’s one of the characteristics of the OS and something we learn to live with. Each update seems to continue the tradition and the newest iteration of Android is no exception. So if you want to know how to fix charging issues with Android Marshmallow, read on.

Slow charging
Here are a few ways to fix Android Marshmallow charging issues. One or more of these might be just what your phone needs.

1. Test the charging cable and replace if necessary. If you have another device, see if the cable is slow with it. If one device charges normally and one does not, the cable is fine. If both device charge slowly, use a different cable.
2. Use airplane mode for charging. Select Airplane mode from the Quick Settings drop down menu before charging. Plug in and charge as normal.
3. If charging from a laptop, make sure the laptop is plugged in. It may sound obvious, but you wouldn’t believe the number of people overlook this simple fix.
4. Charge from a desktop instead of the mains charger. This will isolate a potentially faulty charger.

Problems with charging with Android Marshmallow
There is a tried and tested way of fixing the majority of charging issues with Android Marshmallow.

1. Fully charge the phone up to 100%.
2. Drain the battery through normal use until it reaches 5% charge.
3. Charge until 100% again.
4. Rinse and repeat several times.

While it may seem counterintuitive to continue charging when you’re having problems charging, many smartphone and tablet users have cited this step as solving their charging issues with Android Marshmallow. I hope it works for you too!
