Samsung have been hard at work building fixes into a new OS update release in April 2016. It included fixes for display issues that plagued many users of the S7 Edge, as well as correcting image scaling and other smaller bugs. If you’re having issues with your phone that aren’t fixed in the update and want to know how to fix stability issues on Samsung Galaxy S7, we’ve got you covered!

Check you have the new update
First let’s see if you have the new update from Samsung as it may address the issues you are experiencing.

1. Navigate to Settings, About phone, System or Software update (depending on your region or network).
2. Check for updates.
3. Or look for software version MMB29M.G930VVRU2APB5 for Galaxy S7, or MMB29M.G935VVRU2APB5 for Galaxy S7 edge within the About Phone menu.

If you have the update or no updates are available, we can try clearing the system cache.

Clearing the caches
One of the most effective fixes for both Android Marshmallow and the Galaxy S7 is clearing cached data. Even if your phone is new and you haven’t built up much of a cache, the fix does seem to work in many cases. It’s certainly worth a try if you’re trying to fix stability issues on your Galaxy S7.

1. Navigate to Settings, Apps, Internal storage, Cached data and select Clear cache.
2. Power off your phone. Then hold the power and volume buttons to access the Fastboot menu.
3. Select Recovery using the volume buttons and use the power button to select it.
4. Release the power button but continue holding volume up and home until the Android logo appears. You should now see the recovery menu.
5. Select Wipe cache partition with volume down and select using the power button.

This will clear all caches on the phone. It should also clear it from the more annoying stability issues that have affected users of the S7.
