How to Optimize your room for HTC Vive
Your play area will be very important for properly using the HTC Vive. For the best experience you will want to be free of any obstacles. The following best explains how to optimize your room for the HTC Vive. Here are the following steps:

1. Pick your play area
• Everyone has different tastes for their VR experience. You can choose to stand or to sit. The Vive is designed so it can adjust to both types.
• Pick the area that you feel most comfortable.

2. Room Set up
• First click launch SteamVR.

• If the play area you have chosen is small or you want to play standing still or seated choose the option standing only. Otherwise, choose room scale.
• If you select Room Scale, you will need to make some floor space between the base stations. Its all well written in the setup instructions.
• After room scale double check if the headset and the controllers are being tracked by the base stations.

3. Define your play area in the system
• Point your controller at the monitor and press the trigger.
• To let the system know where the ground is put your controllers on the ground and click calibrate floor.
• Measure your play area with your controller, holding the trigger the whole time. This way the device will be aware of your free space. This is well explained in the setup instructions.
