How to set up a portable hotspot on a Galaxy S7

Turning your Galaxy S7 into a portable hotspot means you can access the internet on any device that has Wi-Fi. If you have the data allowance and are somewhere with poor reception or insecure Wi-Fi, you can share internet connectivity as you see fit. Set up a portable hotspot on a Galaxy S7
1. Access the Settings menu and select Mobile hotspot and tethering.
2. Select Hotspot and then more options.
3. Select configure hotspot
4. Use the default Network SSID or configure a custom one as required.
5. Select hide my device for a bit more security, select Security type and enter a strong password.
6. Select Show advanced options and then Broadcast channel to select the number of connections allowed.
7. Select Save. The hotspot will reset with your selected settings and will be ready for use.

To use your Galaxy S7 as a portable hotspot
1. Access the Settings menu and select Mobile hotspot and tethering.
2. Select Mobile hotspot and enable.
3. Select OK if a warning screen appears telling you that Wi-Fi will be turned off.
4. Connect your device to your Galaxy S7 by entering the network name and password into the Wi-Fi field on that device.

If the device you’re trying to connect to your Galaxy S7 hasn’t used the connection before, you will need to enable Wi-Fi on the device search for the connection using the SSID. Then just enter the password when prompted and connect.
