How to fix Android Marshmallow Wifi Battery Drain

More and more Android phones are being shipped or updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and with that, new issues are being found weekly. One of the new major issues is the battery draining quickly when connect to Wi-Fi. This is affecting all device but if it is affecting yours and you are at your wits end, great news, we have found a fix! If you follow the steps outlined below, you will be able to fix the issue too.

Step 1- Open the App Drawer, then find and select Settings

Step 2- Select Wi-Fi

Step 3- Touch the 3 stacked dots in the top right

Step 4- Choose Advanced

Step 5- Tap Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep

Step 6- Choose Never

Step 7- Go back to your home screen, then enter the app drawer and select Settings again

Step 8- Find and select Location

Step 9- Tap Mode

Step 10- Select Device only

Step 11- Press the Back button and touch the 3 stacked dots in the top right

Step 12- Choose Scanning

Step 13- Disable Wi-Fi scanning

You have now reduced the power consumption Wi-Fi has on your battery. If you ever want better GPS Just go back into your location settings and change it back to High accuracy. If Android ever pushes out an update that corrects the battery drain when on Wi-Fi then you can just undo everything you did and be back to normal with great battery life again

I should mention the results will vary, but there is no harm in doing any of these steps.
