How to Pair Controllers with a Nexus Player

If you have the Nexus player and want to pair controllers with it, the process is fairly simple. You should pair your controller with your Nexus upon the first time that you set the unit up. Once you have paired the remote control, you can easily pair your controller. You can add multiple controllers by following the same procedure. Here are the steps involved in pairing a controller with a Nexus player.

Step 1: Connect your Nexus player to your TV using an HDMI cable. Your TV should be off when you do this.

Step 2: Connect the Nexus player’s power cord. Plug the device in. The player will light up indicating it is on.

Step 3: Go the Home screen. Select Settings.

Step 4: On the Settings page, scroll down until you see “Add accessory.” Select it.

Step 5: Make sure the controller is in pairing mode. The Nexus player will search for the controller. When it has found it and paired with it, you will see the name of the device on the screen. Also, the controller will display one light letting you know that it is paired with the Nexus player.

When you finish pairing a controller with the Nexus player, you will see that controller displayed in the Settings menu. If you have multiple controllers at this point, you can continue pairing those devices by repeating Steps 2 and 3. You can go into any of your games and play them now with your Bluetooth controller.
