How to Send Free Texts with Google Voice

Google Voice is free to use to make phone calls within the United States and Canada. Text messages however are free to send and receive from any country in the world. Text messages can even be sent from the Google Voice website.

Step 1: From your device, log into your account on the Google Voice website.

Step 2: Located above the word “Inbox” on the top left hand side of the webpage, you will see a button that says “Text.” Click on the button that says “Text.”

Step 3: Enter your contacts name or phone number, type your message and press “send” when finished. If you choose to send the message from your cell phone, it will coincide with your recipients texting plan. Google Voice is free for you to use.

Step 4: Sending messages can also be accomplished by clicking on your contacts list and choosing who you wish to message.

Recap: These messages can be sent and received from the Google Voice website or from your device that is affiliated with Google Voice. You also have the option to send out messages to multiple recipients. If you want the messages to be forwarded to your cell phone, you can enable this option in your settings. Text messages sent between two Google Voice numbers are free. If you want to use Google Voice, you must sync it with one of your phone numbers.
