Use Windows Phone to download games and apps to Xbox One

One of the great features of the Xbox One gaming system is its relationship with the Windows Phone. It is now possible to download games and apps to your Xbox One using your Windows Phone. There are numerous games and apps from which to choose. Here is how you can use the Windows Phone to download games and apps to the Xbox One.

Step 1:
To download games to your Xbox One from your Windows Phone, you will need the Xbox One SmartGlass app. Download the app to your phone first.

Step 2:
Next, you have to configure your Xbox One to make sure it will accept updates.

Step 3:
Turn your Xbox One system on and go to System Settings. This is done by clicking the Start button on your Xbox One controller while you are on the Dashboard. From the menu that pops up, select System Settings.

Step 4:
Select Power & startup.

Step 5:
Make sure your Power Mode is set to Instant-on. If not, make sure this is checked.

Step 6:
Next, make sure that the box next to “Automatically download updates and purchases” is checked.

Once this is complete, you can go to the SmartGlass app on your Windows Phone at any time and go the Store section. You can browse for games or apps while in the store. When you see one that you want, click on it. You have to pay for those games and apps that require payment. Once the transaction is confirmed, the game or app will begin to automatically download to your Xbox One.
