Take Self-Timed Photos Using the New Camera App (iOS 8)

Want to take a photos with you in it? No need to take a selfie (unless you want to!). Your iPhone or iPad running iOS 8 allow you to take photos with a self-timer. This means that now you can set a timer for a few seconds before your device actually captures the photo.

This feature helps you capture your images from distance, and when you are posing with any of your family members, friends, relatives, etc. All you need to do is, adjust the mobile accordingly, focus its camera, set the timer, and leave the camera alone and go the to the target location where you want the camera to capture the photo with you.

Below are the steps explaining how you can take self-timed photos in iOS 8:

  1. Switch on your iPhone running iOS 8 by pressing the Sleep/Wake button.
  2. Slide your finger towards right on the screen (screen saying slide to unlock) to unlock the device.

  3. Once the Home screen appears, tap Camera.

  4. On the camera screen, tap the Clock icon from the top.

  5. From the available time options at the top, tap the desired time duration, i.e. either 3 seconds or 10 seconds.

  6. Once the time span is selected, focus the object and tap the Photo icon (icon with a white circle symbol) from the bottom to start the timer countdown to capture the image.

  7. Once done, wait till the timer countdown reaches to 0 and the camera captures the image.
