How to Fix an Apple TV with a Blank Screen

Steps:
1. Restart your Apple TV:

a. At first go to ‘Settings’ on your Apple TV
b. Then navigate to ‘General
c. From the options, select ‘Restart’. In a few seconds it will restart. It might fix your problem. If not, then there’s another process to restart.

d. Take your Apple Remote. Find the Menu and Down button on it.
e. Then hold down the ‘Menu’ and ‘Down’ buttons together at once on the Apple Remote for six seconds
f. When you see the indicator light on the Apple TV is blinking rapidly, release the buttons.
g. Then unplug the power cord of your Apple TV for at least three seconds, and then plug into it again.

2. Reset to factory Settings:

There are several methods of doing this:
1St Method:
1. Go to ‘Settings’ on your Apple TV
2. Then navigate to ‘General
3. And select ‘Reset’ from the options.
4. Click on ‘Restore’. It will automatically download and install the latest software.
5. Do not disconnect or unplug the power cord of your Apple TV during this process.

2nd Method:
Requirements:
• A micro USB cable
• A computer with iTunes
• Internet/ Wi-Fi connection.
Procedure:
1. At first, disconnect the power cord and HDMI cables from your Apple TV.
2. Check that the iTunes installed on your computer is the latest version. If not, then download and install the latest version.
3. Launch the iTunes on your computer.
4. Connect your Apple TV to a computer (this method varies depending on your Apple TV):
o For Apple TV (2nd generation): Connect one terminal of the micro-USB cable to the back port of your Apple TV, and the other terminal to one of your computer's USB ports.
o Apple TV (3rd generation): Connect one terminal of the micro-USB cable to the back of your Apple TV, and the other terminal to one of your computer's USB ports. And connect the power cable from your Apple TV to a power outlet.
5. On the iTunes, choose Apple TV.

6. Then click on ‘Restore Apple TV’ from the summary page related to Apple TV.
