Create Ringtones Using iTunes

iTunes allows you to create ringtones of the audio tracks. The created ringtone in iTunes can be synced with an iPhone.

Creating ringtones using iTunes is a simple process. Here is how to do it:

■Log on to your Windows PC.
■Locate and double-click the iTunes icon to launch the application.
■If you are not already logged in, click the Sign In button from the top-left corner.



■In the opened Sign In to the iTunes Store box, provide your Apple ID credentials in the appropriate fields and click Sign In.



■On the opened window, click Library from the top-right corner.



■From the next interface, ensure that Songs tab is selected from the top.
■Under the songs list that is available, locate and right-click the desired song that you want to use to create a ringtone.
■From the displayed context menu, click Get Info.



■On the opened box, go to the Options tab.
■Under the Options tab, check the Start Time and Stop Time checkboxes.
■In the fields, provide the start and end duration of the track to extract the track’s area that you want to use as the ringtone.
Note: Duration of the ringtone must be no longer than 30 seconds.
■Click OK to continue.



■Once this is done, right-click the song again.
■From the context menu, this time click Create AAC Version to create a segment of target song that you want to set for ringtone.



Note: To revert the original song in iTunes, you must follow the steps from 7 to 10, and under the Options tab uncheck the Start Time and Stop Time checkboxes.
■Once the segment is extracted, locate and right-click the AAC song segment from the iTunes library.
■From the context menu, click the Show in Windows Explorer.



■In the opened File Explore box, locate and right-click the smaller segment of the track.
■Click Rename from the context menu.



■Finally, change the extension from .m4a to .m4r and press Enter.
Note: If the extension of the file is not displayed, click the View menu from the top, and click to check the File name extensions checkbox.
■Once you are done, delete the song segment from the iTunes library.



■From File Explorer, double-click the .m4r file format to open the song segment in the Tones tab that is available at the top of the iTunes window.



Note: If you cannot find the Tones tab at the top, right-click the mini player with the song segment from the top, and from the context menu, click Go to Current Ringtone. This will redirect you to the Tones tab.



■Once done, connect your iPhone with your Windows PC using the data cable that came with your iPhone.
■Sync the iPhone as usual and transfer the ringtone that you created to your device.
